For the last few weeks I've been at Brent food bank, which is organised by a group of volunteers and owned by the charity 'The Trussell Trust'. Currently the food bank is running from a side room in St Mary's Church (which is the eldest church in London!). Yet, with the ever increasing number of people in need of food banks, they have had to acquire a building on the church's grounds - and are in the process of acquiring funds to renovate it.
Yesterday, I met a man called Peter, who had come to the food bank as he was referred by his Doctor. Having used to work for his dad in the property business, Peter is now on benefits and is finding it hard to cope. This is his second time using the Brent food bank.
